Introduction         
The research vessel Surfzone Explorer is a custom Yamaha Wave Runner that is outfitted to collect detailed singlebeam or ADCP data in extremely shallow areas like the surfzone, rivers, estuaries and tidal inlets. The vessel is powered by a clean and quite four-stroke engine for surveys in the most delicate of ecosystems. The vessel can be deployed directly at the survey location eliminating timely travel time. Both the Surfzone Explorer and Sandtracker are part of our rapid response mapping system that can be onsite anywhere along the Eastern Seaboard usually in less than one day.
